Barba Vasilis is Greek-Turkish restaurant in Balat. Local Greeks are called Rum, a word that derives from Roman, describing the Byzantine roots of the community. I went here for a boozy lunch some time ago, we had fun.
What to order: The food here is quite adequate, it’s mostly mezes, hot appetisers and fish, things you find in any Rum spot really. The white and azure decoration, flowers here and there and the walls covered in customers’ handwritten notes make it a sight for the eyes. Very grammable.
