Demeti Meyhanesi

My number one place to bring foreign friends for the meyhane experience. Demeti is a tiny and cozy meyhane with some great mezzes and even better hot appetizers. It looks like an old trattoria inside but with a Turkish Levantine touch of nostalgia.

What to order: Specifically, the levrek marine (mustard seabass ceviche), grilled sardines and Albanian deep-fried liver are bonkers. Go here for a simple, elegant and delicious dinner, sipping your raki on a view.

What to know: Try to book the balcony, or the tables next to the balcony, it’s a great balcony this balcony. Calling a couple days or even a week ahead is suggested.
