This is a place the Kadikoy hipsters have not discovered yet as it is in Kumkapı and does not host brass decorations or tattoed baristas plating menemen dishes in creative ways.
Boris’ place sources excellent dairy products. It’s one of the three spots buying buffalo milk from producers from Istanbul’s hinterland. The cheeses and especially kaymak is sublime. And honestly, that’s about it. They serve these with good eggs in a small, working class-oriented eatery. No fuss, no buzz.
What to order: I suggest get the fried eggs with kavurma (braised meat) and a big plate of kaymak and honey. A power breakfast if there ever was one.
