By far the best and also the most bang for buck Turkish breakfast in Istanbul. Better if you are more than two people and are ready to take pictures. The little plates of jams, cheeses, pastes, pastries, puffs, beignets, eggs keep on coming. They are all delicious as the owner goes around in nearby and distant villages to find good and healthy sourcing. There is always a story of a grandma hand churning the milk, beating hazelnuts into paste and what not in every little plate.
The staff is very tourist-friendly, the location is great and you can see Galata Tower while gorging in the food in this cozy and vibey place.
Never made a reservation here as they are expanding but still Sunday mornings couild be crowded.
What to order:
Get the Turkish breakfast and nothing else, bottomless Turkish tea included. You are not allowed to share a single Turkish breakfast set order for two people. These can be ordered per person. Instead you could get one Turkish breakfast set for one person and the other person could order a dish separately. I’d still go for two sets just to experience the flair of neverending little plates with consistent quality.
What to know:
A good Turkish breakfast is essentially about sourcing. Privato takes the extra step with its home-baked goods and unusual dips. There is clearly someone with good taste behind the helm here.
